Jim Coles's King of Mercia.Jim sent me these great photos of his superb Mercian tourer, Jim writes:-
"This is a 2004 King of Mercia built with Reynolds 531 ST tubing. The frame is pretty much standard with the addition of chain stays lengthened 1cm and an optional wider fork crown. The wider fork crown allows better clearance for cantilever brakes and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering cantilevers. The steerer tube was left long enough to add a couple of extra spacers to the headset to get the bars a bit higher. Some of the extra braze-ons include a dynamo mount on the fork and a pump peg on the seat stay. The finish is British racing green and silver with chrome dropouts.
The bike is outfitted with a Nitto mini front rack and Tubus Logo rear rack. The racks actually match each other quite nicely. A Bush and Muller S-6 Dynamo powers a Bisy front headlamp. I fabricated the bracket for the Bisy headlamp out of a Nitto rear rack connector rod. The rear light is a battery powered Spanninga mounted on Berthoud stainless mudguards. Other kit includes TA Zephyr chainset, Brooks saddle, old Campy Nuovo Record seatpin, and Shimano brakes, derailleurs and bar end shifters".
