DAY ONE - INTO THE EVENING.

2/09/05

We decided to take on our camping trip in September, later than usual but there was good weather forecast and September days could be as hot as any. We took the car to Beulah in mid Wales. It was 18:00 darkness fell at 20:00 so it was imperative to find a campsite quickly. We cycled up the lane toward Abergwesyn; it was great feeling to be back on these lanes in the heart of Wales. Truly this valley is one of the finest in Wales. The road winds its way through the trees, over streams and eventually ends up in the village. To call this a village is taking things a bit to far, one farm and a couple of cottages, but to us it is a gateway of things to come. It was nearly dark so we went into the first available field we found. Our years of camping paid off as we quickly set up the tents and were soon cooking up our food on our stoves. The night was warm as we had a good bit of cloud cover and before long we were settling down in our sleeping bags.
