Wester Ross frame 318.
Your webmaster's own bicycle!

At last I own a Wester Ross! I first drooled over these bikes some 25 years ago when I saw an article about doing 'Rough-Stuff, by Geoff Newey, in the article he mentioned his custom made Wester Ross bike and that was that, I wanted one! Unable to afford one all those years ago I hoped that that one day I would have one, well that day arrived when I went to pick up Wester Ross number 318 after winning it on Ebay.

318 was originally ordered by Jack Ross of Aberdeen back in about 1982, Jack made an excellent choice of components choosing some of the best and most practical components available at the time. The frame is a classic Wester Ross with Nervex lugs and hard-chromed front and rear dropouts, finished in deep gloss black with gold lug-lining. This frame is one of the last Wester Ross frame to have been built in Aultbea, Scotland, before the move to Kerr's farm in Lythe, North Yorkshire. The suffix to the frame number (FGF) indicates that the frame was made by Fergus Forsythe, John Connell's assistant frame builder. The bike also has a custom built rear Wester Ross pannier rack.
